It was great to work with the #Esimbi team during London Fashion Week 2017 at One Whitehall Place in London… the venue was grand, and a lovely way to celebrate the first year anniversary of the social enterprise that supports the education in Congo.
It particularly supports arts and as an artistic and creative person myself I really feel this is important, especially for children that do not have opportunities that we have in modern society.
I have worked with Tina before, when dressing Shona McGarty for the red carpet. And it was great to come on board to support this important cause.
With most fashion shows that are not Avant-garde or hair shows, the designer usually requests that the hair is the same on all models, this is done to create a theme or a story and also so that the clothes are complemented, but that the hair is not a distraction.
The look was a sleek centre parting and a low ponytail in the nape of the neck, then a braid… I opted for a fishtail braid and pulled it out slightly to create an intricate but undone vibe… this suits Tina’s designs for this collection, which are elegant and floating fabrics mixed with trendy or edgy designs including a t-shirt and sweatshirt.
My V-team worked on ten girls brilliantly under the time pressure, and you can see some of the behind the scenes shots below.
